Tom Hardy is now backing down at all as the Venom star is ready to go up against Tom Holland's Spider-Man and it is still possible considering that Sony still holds the rights to both of the characters and while it still hasn't happened yet if it would be possible, he would go for it.

With Venom and Spider-Man still under the same roof as Sony, Marvel fans are expecting that the two could go toe-to-toe together in one film. Since it hasn't been done yet, Tom Hardy shared his side of the coin in a chat with Esquire, "should both sides be willing, and it is beneficial to both sides, I don't see why it couldn't be."

While it may not be happening this year, it is possible that Spider-Man and Venom could cross paths and fight face-to-face in the future should there be a green light from Sony. This year, the studio will release Tom Hardy's Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and Tom Holland's Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage has dropped a lot of easter eggs referencing previous films of Raimi's Spider-Man and MCU's version. This led fans to speculate that a face-off between the two characters is about to happen and with the statement of Hardy looking like he's playing safe, it is possible that the plan may already be in place or in the process.

As recent developments in the MCU happened like the opening of the multiverse, this could also be a potential plot given that all the doors have been opened when the finale ofLoki let all the alternate realities branch out to the point of no return. With rumors pointing out that various versions of Spider-Man and previous villains coming together in No Way Home, a Venom versus Spider-Man could also be possible, right?

Venom: Let There Be Carnage would be out in theaters on September 24, 2021 and Spider-Man: No Way Home arrives in theaters on December 17, 2021.
