Riot has been teasing the eighteenth VALORANT agent for months. The VALORANTYear One Anthem video released in June gave us our first look at a well-dressed person known as Deadeye with what appears to be a sniper rifle resting on his shoulder.

The trailer for the new map Fracture also teased the new agent as it showed two bullets collding and destroying a reaction while the footage is being narrated by a mysterious voice with a French accent, which likely belongs to Deadeye. Players also spotted two gun cases on either side of the new map, and they are likely the weapons featured in the trailer.

In the latest State of the Agents update, VALORANT character producer John Goscicki shared some information about the upcoming agent, but he doesn't specifically mention Deadeye.

"We took a step back and thought about different ways to provide another Sentinel to the roster," Goscicki wrote. "A Sentinel that focuses on mechanical outplays, with an additional focus of gunplay into the mix for an extra flourish."

Goscicki went on to say that achieving a dream moment will be "magnifigue," which is a nod to the French character from the trailer. At the bottom of the details, an image of a hot cup of coffee on a small plate, and a business card on a wooden table.

The most interesting information here is the confirmation that the next agent will be a Sentinel. Currently, VALORANT has three Sentintel agents: Cypher, Killjoy, and Sage, so having another focused on gunplay and mechanical outplays would be a welcomed addition that could make the gameplay more interesting.

In addition to teasing the new agent, Riot also assured that they are working to improve the agent Yoru, so expect the Japanese VALORANT agent to get buffs in a future update.

VALORANT fans will most likely have to wait weeks before we find out more about the upcoming agent, but expect Riot to release the next Sentinel in the next episode.
