After the end of the first cour with Episode 12 which aired earlier today, the Urusei Yatsura remake revealed its new creditless opening and ending for the second cour.

Similar to the first cour’s opening and ending songs, these two new songs for Urusei Yatsura are made by the same music project, albeit with different featured singers.

Urusei Yatsura is an iconic manga series by Rumiko Takahashi that’s beloved throughout the world, especially for those who grew up in the 80s.

It became a fixture of its time among otaku thanks to the first anime series adaptation that was directed by Mamoru Oshii (of Ghost in the Shell fame).

Back in Fall 2022, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure studio David Production finally premiered the Urusei Yatsura remake.

While many fans of the classic anime were surprised by the decision to remake it, many appreciated the more modern take on the series.

Much like its first opening, the remake's second cour opening features a creative animated sequence with bright colors, which you can check out here:

It perfectly matches the new song, I Wanna Muchuu, by MAISONdes featuring asmi and Surii.

While it’s also a bouncy pop track, this new opening isn’t as “high-energy” as the first opening, Aiue. Though it’s still a fitting track for the romantic comedy anime series.

This new opening played at the beginning of Episode 12 which was released today.

It is expected that this second opening will be used until either Episode 22 or 23 as the reboot is a four-cour show.

Meanwhile, the new ending song titled aitarinai is also performed by the music project MAISONDes. But this time, it features Japanese artists yama and Nito.

Anime fans will likely be familiar with the second ending's singer. After all, yama is also the singer of Spy x Family's second ending song, Shikisai, which was used in Part 2 of the series.

While this new ending also features brightly colored visuals, it does feature simpler animation compared to the new opening as well as the previous ending. Still, its art style matches the show well enough.

Similar to the new opening, you can expect to see this new ending song until Episode 22.

Given that the show has four cours and a total episode count of 46, you can expect to see two more openings and endings in its entire run.
