TWICE Jeongyeon has been receiving body-shaming messages from critics due to her recent weight gain, but her fans stand to defend her.

Due to her health issues, the K-pop idol has been in and out of the spotlight in the past months. To recover from those problems, Jeongyeon needed to take a break from time to time and consume medications for her injuries and anxiety disorder.

However, one of their side effects is weight gain, and Jeongyeon showed a remarkable transformation that led some people to criticize her. Still, her fans defended her from the attackers and offered heartfelt support to the K-pop idol.

Fans immediately condemned the comments against the TWICE member, asking everyone to offer empathy as she tried to recover from her illnesses. One fan also stood out as they detailed what truly happened to Jeongyeon to make them realize what hardships she went through.

According to the Twitter post, Jeongyeon already showed signs of deteriorating health during the group's More & More promotion. At that time, she began wearing a neck brace in their arrivals on music shows and during rehearsals.

The condition reportedly began while filming the song's music video. Jeongyeon felt numbness from her neck to her ears at that time, causing her to consult a medical professional regarding her status. A week later, she found out she had a herniated disk in her neck.

She also decided not to allow any fancams to focus on her as she did not want to show a subpar performance to the viewers. Despite her condition, she joined TWICE's online concert Beyond LIVE – TWICE: World In A Day and was forced to sit on a chair instead of performing.

She publicly spoke about her weight gain that month, saying she needed to eat more meals before taking her medicine. As of the writing, she already went on hiatus twice due to her injury and mental health issues.

Since JYP Entertainment has not done anything to protect Jeongyeon yet, fans launched a project to send emails to the agency so that it could finally take legal action against malicious posts against the TWICE member.

JYP Entertainment has not responded to the messages yet, but all the responders are now waiting for positive feedback from the company.
