The anime’s second season has been known for some time now, but Crunchyroll hasn’t shared much in the way of new details since its reveal in 2022. Finally, Crunchyroll announced the July 2024 release of Tower of God Season 2.

Tower of God’s new season got a release announcement at Crunchyroll’s Industry Panel at Anime NYC 2023. There, the anime’s new teaser trailer was shared, which also revealed its release.

Its release date may still be over half a year away, but the new announcement is still great news for fans given how long it has been since the first season.

Anime NYC 2023 was one of the last big anime events of the year in the US. Fittingly, it featured lots of premieres for upcoming shows like Bartender: Glass of God, Delicious in Dungeon, and more.

Premieres weren’t the only reason to visit Anime NYC 2023 though, as attendees were treated to various panels and showcases. At Crunchyroll’s panel, attendees got to see the release of the Tower of God Season 2 teaser.

Shortly after it was shown at the event, the teaser was also shared online. You can watch it here:

This new Tower of God teaser doesn’t feature much in the way of footage, but it does at least give fans a snippet of what to expect in the new season.

The teaser shows off some moments from the original manhwa, including its new character, Ja Wangnan.

Unlike most anime which are based on manga or light novels, Tower of God is based on a manhwa (which are South Korean comics), making it closer to something like Solo Leveling.

The series follows Twenty-Fifth Bam, a boy who has spent his life trapped underneath a massive Tower with only his friend, Rachel, keeping him company.

Soon, Rachel enters the Tower, leaving Bam alone. Soon, Bam manages to open the Tower’s door, and he begins his quest through the Tower to reunite with Rachel.

The anime’s first season was streamed on Crunchyroll from April to June 2020. This first season was animated by Telecom Animation Film (of Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro fame).

Meanwhile, Tower of God Season 2 will be released in July 2024. Based on the teaser, Bandai Namco Filmworks is credited for this show’s production.
