Who Is Kakucho in Tokyo Revengers?
Kakucho is one of the most iconic characters in Tokyo Revengers, not only because of the gruesome scar on his face but also because of his significant connection with Takemichi and Izana Kurokawa, which affected the course of his life.
At such a young age, Kakucho has been through a lot. His parents were killed, and his face has been scarred. This tragic incident left Kakucho in an orphanage, where he began to have some trouble trusting others.
It was only after he met Izana Kurokawa that Kakucho’s life took a new direction. He met him at a time when he was arranging a makeshift grave for his parents, and Izana arrived to destroy it.
Izana told Kakucho that he needed to forget the dead, or his life would be worthless.
Growing up, Kakucho led a life similar to that of Izana Kurokawa. He is full of aspirations, in the belief that someday he will create a kingdom (Tenjiku) not only for himself but also for Izana and the rest of the people who follow them.
Among all the members of Izana’s gang, Kakucho is the most loyal. He thinks that he has some sort of king-and-servant relationship with Izana, to the extent that he is willing to kill anyone who will defy Izana and prevent their dreams from happening.
Kakucho's Real Name in Tokyo Revengers: The Best Theories
While there has been no confirmation about the real name of Kakucho in Tokyo Revengers, fans are used to completing his name with the surname "Hittou."
It is unknown who started it, but fans are accustomed to saying the real and complete name of Kakucho as Kakucho Hittou.
According to one theory, the word “Hittou” emerges from Kakucho’s title as the leader of the Four Heavenly Kings. Hittou means something along the lines of "head," which directly relates to his superior position.
If you try to search for Kakucho’s real name online, you will surely find Kakucho Hittou, despite no confirmation from Tokyo Revengers' author, Ken Wakui.
It is up to you to accept or reject Kakucho’s name at the end of the day.
Fun fact: the name Kakucho means crane or stork (kaku) and butterfly (cho). Perhaps it has something to do with his upbringing, as Kakucho was an orphan who began to flap his wings like a butterfly upon growing up.
What Is Kakucho’s Connection With Takemichi Hanagaki?
In the latest episode of Tokyo Revengers, it was revealed that Takemichi Hanagaki and Kakucho are childhood friends.
We all know how young Takemichi can make friends easily due to his impulsiveness to go fight bullies and protect those in need.
It happened to Hina, and it also happened to Kakucho. He promised Kakucho to get even with his bullies, but the latter disagreed, saying that he needed to get stronger instead.
Since then, Kakucho has seen Takemichi as his childhood hero. When they met each other again, Kakucho changed, as he was more than willing to kill Takemichi for the sake of Izana Kurokawa.
He’s more devoted to Izana than Takemichi, after all.
