Thor: Ragnarok Will Reportedly Have Planet Hulk Elements

Marvel may not have any plans for a solo Hulk movie anytime soon, but it looks like Bruce Banner is going to have his chance to shine in next year's Thor: Ragnarok, which seems to be shaping up to be something incredible. We already know for sure that The Hulk and Thor will be going on a cosmic adventure in which they will have to battle Hela (played by Cate Blanchett) and her armies.

According to JoBlo,Thor: Ragnarok will also feature elements from the classic Planet Hulk story arc, making Ragnarok a mashup of sorts.

Possible spoilers ahead.

Here's what the report said:

The film will definitely have the Planet Hulk element in it, operating as a kind of mash-up with the Ragnarok story. How Thor ends up on the planet in question is unclear, but he will definitely be involved in some gladiatorial games run by none other than Jeff Goldblum's Grandmaster. In terms of Hulk's appearance in this portion of the film, he will be rocking the one-shoulder armor as seen in the comics, so expect him to be decked out in the familiar Planet Hulk look.

According to previous rumors, Cate Blanchett's Hela will team up with Tom Hiddleston's Loki to rule Asgard, and after this happens, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is said to be exiled into deep space, to protect their plans from him. At this point, Thor would land at an alien planet where he would be imprisoned and forced into gladitorial combat.

Thor needs to escape so he can return to Asgard to take it back from Hela and Loki, and as he fights through various gladitorial matches, he eventually faces the reigning champion: The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). It's probably at this point, where they would team up with each other to find the ultimate weapon to stop Ragnarok and reset the universe.

The report also shared informatio on the appearances of the characters, including a new hairstyle that Thor will be sporting. Apparently he will have a shaved head for some parts of the film. The report also says that the look of Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie will be changed as well. In the comics, she is a traditionally blonde-haired warrior, but in the film, "she'll be wearing war paint on her face, much like a Native American warrior, which should be an interesting take on this variation of the character."

Last year, Ruffalo said that The Hulk was being "saved for something big". Could this be it?

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Ragnarok will be released in theaters on November 3, 2017.
