As the release of Thor: Love and Thunder nears, more teasers are coming out and in the latest one, the titular hero introduces his all-new super team. However, a surprise unfolds as two Celestials are seen as they sail through the bifrost. How and why are they there? Are they villains or not?

In the newest trailer of Thor: Love and Thunder, Thor builds his very own team with Korg, Jane as the Mighty Thor, King Valkyrie, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and his goats, Toothgrinder and Toothgnasher, who screams a lot. Thor even showed how a split is done mid-air! What a show-off!

Surprisingly, a scene reveals two Celestials while Thor and Jane cruises the bifrost. The two Celestials seem to be guarding a gate in Olympus that the heroes passed through and it remains unknown whether they are among the good guys or not. This ties Thor: Love and Thunder directly to Eternals where the origins of a Celestial was explained.

A popular theory connecting Thor: Love and Thunder to Eternals suggests that Gorr's planet had been a host to give birth to a Celestial. In Eternals, it was explained that it needs a planet for a Celestial to thrive and be born. If so, the existence of Celestials in Olympus would make sense where they may be seeking refuge or protection from Gorr.
