SEVENTEEN member The8 suffered an injury that left CARATs extremely worried about his health.
SEVENTEEN has recently made headlines because of its sold-out concerts, events, and music releases. The Pledis Entertainment boy group also became the fourth K-pop act to earn a RIAJ million certification with its ninth mini-album, Attacca.
Amid the good news, CARATs also felt worried after the group confirmed that The8 recently sustained an injury.

The8 Update: SEVENTEEN Member Injured His Left Clavicle
On SEVENTEEN’s official Twitter account, the group’s agency Pledis Entertainment revealed that The8 — whose real name is Xu Minghao, sustained an injury on his left collarbone.
It disclosed that his doctors advised him to wear a fracture brace while trying to recuperate from the injury. They also asked him not to move too much in the next few weeks.
“The artist is highly determined to attend all of the group’s prearranged engagements; however, his participation will be adjusted depending on the circumstances, placing his recovery as the top most priority as per recommended by the medical staff,” the statement continued.

Pledis Entertainment clarified that The8, despite his injury, would participate in SEVENTEEN’s scheduled activities, including the fan signing event in China, CARAT DAY Live, and 2023 SVT 7TH FAN MEETING ‘SEVENTEEN in CARAT LAND.
The agency pledged to help The8 in his treatment and guide him until he recovers.
The statement did not disclose how he sustained the injury.
Previously, The8 also worried fans when he suffered a waist injury in 2017.
SEVENTEEN The8 Expands Career
The8 has been expanding his career in the past years as an idol.
Before debuting as a member of SEVENTEEN, he initially appeared on CCTV Variety Show and Day Day Up. He soon finished 8th place in the 6th Shanghai World Dance Competition.
The8 began pursuing his career in the K-pop industry when he appeared on SEVENTEEN’s first-ever show, Seventeen TV. He soon debuted with the other members through the group’s first EP, 17 Carat.
Aside from his work with SEVENTEEN, he also expanded his solo career and released singles following his solo debut in 2019.
