Netflix's Geeked Week is coming to a close and fans are expecting some pretty major announcements for its fifth and final day. For today's festivities, The Witcher is among the properties expected to drop some news after much teasing earlier this week. Naturally, this led to speculation that we'll finally be able to see our first official look at the second season of the Henry Cavill-led Netflix series.

We hate to break it to you though as that doesn't seem to be the case. The Witcher game's official Twitter handle took to the microblogging site earlier today and hinted that an announcement could be set for July 9th. The Witcher series' account, CD Projekt, and Gwent all joined the teasing game but much to the chagrin of fans, in the end, they didn't go much into detail about the mysterious date and the supposed announcement.

Of course, it's safe to assume right off the bat that it has something to do with the live-action series but considering it just wrapped up filming and is just kickstarting its post-production stages, releasing an actual trailer a month from now doesn't seem all that plausible and I don't think Geralt of Rivia has that sort of power, as mighty as he actually is. Interestingly, ComicBook speculates that the actual July 9th announcement has something to do with the 2D-animated film The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf which seems like the most logical route given the fact that the film releases sometime this year.
