The Walking Dead’s Michael Cudlitz Shares His Thoughts on Season 6 & Negan Spoilers

It's safe to say that The Walking Dead spoilers hunt is at its peak. With the cliffhanger from last season, several characters have been frequently on people's who-got-the-bat list.

And a lot of those lists appear to feature army man Abraham, played by Michael Cudlitz. There are different reasons for him being on the list, and it's hard to deny that one of them may be so that we'll get to see the bigger mainstays alive a little longer.

Even though he's not yet dead, Cudlitz shared some of his thoughts on the events that transpired last season. Because let's face it, apart from the rise and fall of Alexandria and Negan's debut, there was also that side story of Abraham's love triangle.

Fans know that Rosita (Christian Serratos) had become recently single thanks to Abraham taking a liking to Sasha. And while this is the most unusual turn of events—Sasha (Sonequa Martin) just lost Bob in the previous season, right?—I guess it goes to show that in a post-apocalypse, even something like romantic drama can exist. No matter how surreal it is.

Cudlitz spoke to Yahoo! and shed some light on how this romance developed. According to him, it seems like a gradual creeping, that just suddenly became real when it was already there.

And if he were to name that one moment when he realized it, Cudlitz shared that it was on the bridge where he put his gun down and stares at death in the face. Funnily enough, that's when he realizes that there's still a lot to live for.

I don't know about you, but the moment that his story started taking that kind of turn, it reminded me of how Tyrone's own story slowly built up to his death. He had just started to make peace with what's happening. And when it seems like he's starting to stabilize in grasping at the answer, he gets bit.

I've always felt that moments of inspiration come hand-in-hand with death at some point in The Walking Dead. But then again, I'm sure that the showrunners are gunning for a death that will undo the group. And that means one of the mainstays from way back will have to be it.

As far as spoilers for Negan and Lucille's victim—now you didn't think Cudlitz will actually spoil anything, did you? If anything, his response to fans is hilarious.

When asked if he actually expects a straight-up answer to the much-speculated question "Who was Negan's victim?" this is what Cudlitz has to say:

"I don't even think they hope that you answer it. I think in the back of their minds, they think that you're going to slip up and say who it may or may not be. I get asked probably a hundred times a day during a convention. Almost every person asks… they want a reaction. You go on the Interweb, and it's a tremendous amount of speculation and guesses. It's just like, ‘No, we're not telling you anything now. Get over it.'"

While I may say "Nicely put," I'm sure that's not even close to being enough to stop the hailstorm of speculations. We still have a good two months ahead of us.

The Walking Dead season 7 will return on AMC on Oct. 23.
