The Umbrella Academy star Elliot Page shocked the entire entertainment industry when he took to Twitter earlier this month, revealing to the world that he's actually transgender. Following his stunning revelation, fans of the 33-year-old actor took to social media to express their support for the X-Men star. Of course, we've all been aware of Page's sexual orientation for years now after he came out as gay in 2014, just a few months before X-Men: Days of Future Past was released.

A few weeks following their news-making announcement, Elliot once again took to his social media platform to extend his gratitude to the people who have been very supportive of his life choices throughout the years, as well as his transition. They wrote: "From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Your love and support has been the greatest gift. Stay safe. Be there for each other."

It's great to see Elliot at peace with himself and they have somewhat become a symbol of strength and inspiration especially to the folks who are still afraid to acknowledge their true sexual identity. It also truly amazing how people have become more accepting of celebrities who are part of the LGBTQ+ community and I haven't seen one person try to rain on Elliot's parade. It's also worth noting that this new development in Elliot's personal life won't get in the way of his career choices as we've previously reported that Netflix won't make any changes to her character in The Umbrella Academy. I'm guessing though that the show will eventually address her identity as transgender which, of course, is the smartest thing to do.

The Umbrella Academy's third season is currently in active development.
