The Umbrella Academy star Elliot Page stunned the entire entertainment industry when they officially came out as transgender this week. Page's personal life has always been an open book and a lot of people are well aware of their sexual orientation, coming out as gay in 2014. This bold revelation from Page earned them support and praises not only from their colleagues but from their legions of fans all over the globe.

Amid all the buzz surrounding her revelation, this new development reportedly will not affect his involvement in Season 3 of The Umbrella Academy as Netflix intends to keep him on the show. In fact, Netflix is also in the process of updating Page's credits on all of his film and TV shows that are part of their current library. Not only that, according to a report from Variety, the streaming service won't be making changes with regard to his character Vanya Hargreeves so expect him to remain as Vanya at least in Season 3.

It'll be interesting to see though if they end up addressing his new sexual orientation in the hit Netflix show now that Elliot has fully embraced his brand new identity. Of course, it wouldn't be too farfetched to think that it'll happen gradually as the show progresses and quite frankly, it's the right thing to do.

Season 3 of The Umbrella Academy will begin production in early 2021.
