As reported by Variety, the streaming viewership of Netflix shows have been released by Nielsen starting August 8 and as it turns out, The Sandman is now ahead of Stranger Things.

Stranger Things boasts 1.1 billion minutes watched, making it the top three on the list for the most watched streaming series. However, The Sandman easily overtakes the number of Stranger Things as the series got 1.4 billion minutes watched.

On the second place is Uncharted with 1.2 billion minutes, Day Shift with 982 million minutes, Virgin River with 934 million minutes, and Locke & Key with 919 million minutes.

Despite all that, there is still no green light for The Sandman Season 2 even when a lot of fans are already asking for it and the numbers are not lying anymore because the series just topped the list of the most watched so, in short, it is profitable.

The Sandman ended with an opening for a second season, even leaving a lot of questions and characters yet to debut for the expansion of the series. Still, it all boils down to Netflix whether the show would have a second season.

Meanwhile, Stranger Things Season 5 is currently under development but still without a release date as the writers are just starting to conceptualize how the series will unfold in, possibly, eight episodes as teased by the scribes of the show.

The Sandman is currently streaming on Netflix as well as the first four seasons of Stranger Things.
