The cast of The Old Guard 2 just got even more exciting! It has just been confirmed that the sequel will introduce Kill Bill star Uma Thurman and Snake Eyes actor Henry Golding!
The news was announced during Netflix Geeked Week as The Old Guard 2 finally got an update. It was revealed that Uma Thurman and Henry Golding will be joining the cast of the sequel. Although their roles have not yet been disclosed, fans are already hoping to see Thurman as another immortal warrior and will be going up against Charlize Theron who plays Andromache of Scythia.
This is truly exciting news considering that we haven't seen Uma Thurman in an action feature for a long time. It's best to note that she had played Beatrix Kiddo in the two Kill Bill movies back in 2004 and Thurman did an amazing job as the Bride. Although it has not yet been confirmed, we're hoping that there's a fight sequence for Thurman in The Old Guard 2.
Henry Golding may have started out as eye candy in his films but he recently proved he could lead an action movie like Snake Eyes. His role in The Old Guard sequel has not yet been revealed.
The Old Guard 2 will be directed by Victoria Mahoney who will take over for Gina Prince-Bythewood. The sequel is expected to adapt Greg Rucka's graphic novel The Old Guard: Force Multiplied which was also a sequel to the original comic. Charlize Theron will return along with KiKi Layne, Matthias Schoenaerts, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, Veronica Ngo, and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
For now, The Old Guard 2 has not yet been given an official release date. However, fans are hoping that the sequel will premiere on Netflix by next year. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
