The Marvels is finally set to arrive in theaters next month and plenty of MCU fans have been looking forward to seeing Carol Danvers team up with Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan for a cosmic adventure in the franchise's 33rd chapter on the big screen.

Considering that the track record of recent MCU releases hasn't been as high as its peak a few years back, there have been some concerns regarding the upcoming film's potential box office performance.

It also doesn't help that the ongoing actors' strike has prevented any of the cast members from doing promotional campaign and Disney has to pivot from their traiditonal marketing and rely mostly on its trailers and other materials to hype up the general audience.

Now, the early box office forecast for the film is now up and the numbers are not promising.

According to Box Office Pro, The Marvels is currently projected to only earn around $50-75 million on its opening weekend box office when it releases in theaters next month which is way lower than recent MCU releases such as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 which opened to $118.4 million.

For its total domestic run, the film is forecast to earn $121-189 million which is still disappointing and lower than the recent MCU releases.

This is definitely not good news for the film's potential box office performance since this suggests that it is in danger of becoming one of the rare MCU flops, which is more jarring since it is a sequel to a billion-dollar hit.

There are a lot of explanations that we can speculate regarding why the early numbers are discouraging whether it's comic book movie fatigue or the lack of involvement of its stars in the promotional campaign.

Since we're still a month away from its release, there is still time for Disney and Marvel Studios to turn things around and hype up the film even further to the general audience despite the absence of the cast.

If the actors' strike concludes by the end of the month, they can still make a last-minute effort to have the actors promote the film as much as they can. However, that is still more hypothetical since the negotiation between the actors' guild and the studios was recently suspended.

In just a few weeks, we will be able to find out how the film will perform at the box office, but this is certainly a concerning sign. They should also hope that the word-of-mouth is good enough that they can overcome the hurdles.

The Marvels is slated to arrive in theaters this November 10.
