The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) continues to become a successful franchise in Hollywood thanks to its numerous films and TV shows that received positive reception and continued to make unprecedented box office performances (at least for the most part).
Based on their plans for the next several years, it is looking like they have no plans to slow down anytime soon as they continue to churn out more films and TV shows despite the criticisms of some of their recent outputs.
They are also yet to introduce other fan-favorite characters from the Marvel Comics such as the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Blade, which are all slated to have their own films down the line.
As the franchise is now in its 15th year, there are questions now whether it has fulfilled its goals or reached its full potential. As it turns out, that is not the case yet according to its head honcho.

Kevin Feige Opens Up About the Future of the MCU
Speaking with Variety, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige reflected on the MCU's huge success today where he shared that he remained enthusiastic today as he was at the beginning when they started it.
"I feel so lucky that I get to do this job. Every costume fitting, when we see the actors transform for the first time, there’s always this moment of awe. It’s so incredible to take these characters and bring them to life on the screen," he said.
Despite the changes that have gone through in the franchise, Feige noted that their tradition has never changed and they still rely on fan participation in their films.
"We’ve had a tradition at Marvel Studios that started with the very first Iron Man. For every new release, the cast, producers, director, and I will drop in on an opening night showing and watch the movie with the fans," he added.
"Feeling the excitement in the theater, hearing cheers or gasps from the audience, is always a reminder of what these movies and characters mean to fans."
Regarding the future of the franchise, Feige teased that they have no intention to slow down anytime soon as they still have "barely scratched the surface."
He said, "The great thing about Marvel truly is how many wonderful, interesting characters we have in the comics — they’ve been at it for 85 years. Even after 32 movies, it feels like we’ve barely scratched the surface."
This is not necessarily a surprising statement since we know that they always plan things ahead and they pretty much have the rest of the Multiverse Saga (or even beyond) mapped out at this point.
However, one thing that they need to do is to make sure that the quality of each project will be better again in the aftermath of the reception that some of their recent outputs have received so that they can still maintain their momentum.
