Following the controversial ousting of Gina Carano from Lucasfilm, a lot of the actress' supporters turned their attention to one person, and shockingly enough, it wasn't any of the Disney executives responsible for her firing and instead, it's Carano's co-star from The Mandalorian Pedro Pascal who received a ton of criticism after he was able to "secure" his job in the Star Wars universe.
We reported a few weeks back that fans wanted Pascal fired from the show as well after his old tweet comparing the current state of the United States to Nazi Germany resurfaced. To a lot of people, the Game of Thrones actor's post was pretty similar to the post that got Gina Carano under fire.
The argument escalated quickly and even led to the launch of a #FirePedroPascal online petition which didn't really gain much traction. Pascal, who has always been known by fans for being social media savvy has yet to address the issue surrounding his name getting dragged into the Carano controversy.
Weeks after Pedro fell victim to cancel culture, his supporters stormed social media to express their love and admiration for the Wonder Woman 1984 star through the #WeLovePedroPascal hashtag which even trended on Twitter. Unsurprisingly, it caught the attention of the actor who tweeted out his message of gratitude towards his fans.
Going back to the subject of Carano's firing, it remains unclear if her co-stars from The Mandalorian have already reached out to her including Pascal himself who last year showed support for Carano amid the growing criticism she's been getting. Bill Burr recently came out to defend the former mixed martial arts fighter and even talked trash about cancel culture. Hopefully, despite the ugly situation, all is well between Carano and her former colleagues.
Meanwhile, the third season of The Mandalorian will begin production this April.
