The Mandalorian Season 3: Jon Favreau Teases Bo-Katan vs. Din Djarin Showdown

It has been confirmed that Katee Sackhoff will be back in The Mandalorian Season 3 and that means we'll be seeing more of Bo-Katan Kryze. However, that probably isn't good news for Mando himself. Executive producer Jon Favreau has just teased an epic showdown between Bo-Katan and Din Djarin in the upcoming season.

Jon Favreau recently spoke to Comicbook.com where he confirmed that writing Bo-Katan meant collaborating with Dave Filoni, who had introduced the character in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

"When I was dealing with Bo-Katan, that was a Filoni character so we really partnered up on how she would be, who would play her, how she would look, and what her character would be like," Favreau said. He continued by pointing out that Bo-Katan is very different from Din and it could lead to some conflicts between the two.

"Having those two characters weave together, I think, really caught people in an unexpected way," Favreau continued. "Two sets of Mandalorians that actually seem very different co-existing in the same world, so, now as we go into the next season, we start to really explore what that means and how those characters might see eye to eye or maybe not get along at all."

There's another reason why Bo-Katan and Din will be going up against each other. After all, Din currently has the Darksaber and it's unlikely that Bo-Katan will not try to reclaim it. With that in mind, we're looking forward to seeing the two in action early next year.

The Mandalorian Season 3 will bring back Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin and Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan Kryze. The new season of the Star Wars series will air on Disney+ in February 2023. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
