Fans don't talk about it that much but the obliteration of Din Djarin's gunship aka the Razor Crest was one of the most shocking moments of The Mandalorian's second season.
The gunship, which has been Mando's trusty vehicle since the first season was destroyed by a single blow from Moff Gideon's light cruiser in Chapter 14: The Tragedy. It wouldn't take long for him to get a replacement thanks to Peli Motto but the Razor Crest had undoubtedly become so iconic, that even the ultra-sleek N-1 Starfighter couldn't take its place.
Now, a new novelization for The Mandalorian reveals what the Razor Crest truly meant for Pedro Pascal's titular character and it makes the gunship's destruction all the more devastating.

The Mandalorian: Din Djarin's True Reaction to Razor Crest's Destruction Finally Revealed
According to Star Wars: The Mandalorian Junior Novel by Joe Schreiber, a novelization that chronicles the events of Season 1, the Razor Crest was more than a vehicle to Din. In fact, he considered it an extension of himself.
A passage from the novelization reads: "The Razor Crest was home. Where others might look at the gunship and see a simple means of transportation or escape, the Mandalorian knew the Crest as his haven, almost an extension of the armor and helmet that protected him."
While the series didn't exactly dive into Din's coming to terms with the Crest's destruction, it's safe to say that he took it personally.

It would be nice if we got ourselves a second Razor Crest but instead, Lucasfilm went and gave Din a completely different ship. While it does the job, there's no denying that the Crest looked more badass.
