The Mandalorian Season 3 has finally confirmed that the Mythosaur is more than just a myth of epic proportions and Bo-Katan Kryze herself laid eyes on one that has been hiding in the Living Waters in the Mines of Mandalore. But why didn't she tell Din Djarin about her discovery? Katee Sackhoff discussed why Bo-Katan kept the Mythosaur's existence a secret.
In The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 2, Bo-Katan Kryze rescued Din Djarin after the latter set off to Mandalore on his own. She then led him to the location of the Living Waters in the Mines of Mandalore beneath Sundari's ruins. When Din goes into the water, he steps into a sinkhole so Bo-Katan goes after him and sees a Mythosaur on their way up.
In the next episode, Bo-Katan asks Din if he saw anything in the Living Waters but he claims that he only saw the chasm. When pressed, Bo-Katan decides not to talk about the Mythosaur she saw in the waters.
But why did Bo-Katan choose not to talk about the creature? Katee Sackhoff was recently a guest on Entertainment Weekly's Dagobah Dispatch podcast and she pointed out that her character doesn't have any ulterior motives for keeping the secret.
"She doesn't trust necessarily what she saw," Sackhoff explained. "She might have thought that she imagined it... there's so many things that she's trying to process in her head that I don't necessarily think that it's something that she wants to tell anyone about right now."
Although Bo-Katan isn't quite sure if she did see a Mythosaur in the Living Waters, there's one thing that is certain. The Armorer and the rest of the enclave have welcomed her and Din after they redeemed themselves by bathing in the waters. Needless to say, this is an interesting development for the character.
The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 4 will premiere on Disney+ on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.
