Star Wars: Ewan McGregor Returns as Obi-Wan Kenobi For a Good Cause

Obi-Wan Kenobi is back. Well, sort of. Ewan McGregor has just returned as the Jedi Master in a charity fundraising sketch for BBC's Comic Relief alongside a star-studded cast.

Ewan McGregor was one of the big stars who took part in the latest episode of Comic Relief where he joined a parody sketch of The Traitors. The sketch also included Alan Cumming as the host while McGregor, Alison Hammond, Mary Berry, Stephen Merchant, Danny Dyer, Jennifer Saunders and two of the actual Traitors contestants from the show's first season. As expected, McGregor made an entrance that would make any Star Wars proud as he dropped Obi-Wan Kenobi's iconic greeting (via Twitter).

It's awesome to see Ewan McGregor fully committed to the role in the sketch, namedropping Darth Vader as the true Traitor and coining a new Obi-Wan Kenobi tagline ("Use the fork, Mary!"). Although it's not an official return for the character, it's still great to know that McGregor is game to reprise the role for a good cause.

But what are the chances that Ewan McGregor will return in a new Star Wars project? It has not yet been confirmed whether Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi series is getting a second season. Still, fans are hoping that the Jedi Master could show up in another prequel series or film. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Obi-Wan Kenobi was a limited series set a decade after the events in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. It follows the Jedi Master as he is enlisted to retrieve the young Princess Leia Organa who had been kidnapped by the Galactic Empire. Kenobi also encounters his former apprentice Anakin Skywalker who had become the Sith Lord Darth Vader.

Obi-Wan Kenobi has not yet been renewed for a second season. All six episodes of the first season are not streaming on Disney+.
