Gina Carano is understandably upset about being fired from The Mandalorian. However, she is still ready to stand up for her former co-star in the Star Wars series. Carano has just defended Pedro Pascal's controversial political tweet.
Carano broke her silence in an interview on The Ben Shapiro Show where she shared her side of the story. At one point, Shapiro pointed out that Carano's post about the treatment of Jews in Nazi Germany was "obviously not anti-semitic".
Interestingly, Shapiro then stated that Pascal's tweet that likened the treatment of Jews to the treatment of migrant children at the border didn't lead to him being fired by Disney. However, Carano was quick to defend her former co-star before agreeing that there was a "double standard" here.
"There has been," she said. "They've been all over me, and they've been watching me like a hawk. And I'm watching other people on the same production, they can say everything they want. And that's where I had a problem."
Carano continued that her case was slightly different but still admitted that she has a bond with Pascal.
"I had a problem because I wasn't going along with the narrative, and you know what? I adore Pedro. I adore him," she said.
Interestingly, Carano had hinted at other people being bullied by Disney and Lucasfilm in the past. However, she chose not to tell their story and reveal their names because it could lead to people losing their jobs.
Although Carano holds no grudges against Pascal, we can't say the same thing about other people. It was previously reported that netizens are calling for Pascal to be fired from The Mandalorian as well. However, it seems unlikely that the former Game of Thrones star will be removed from the series.
The Mandalorian Season 3 will premiere on Disney+ in 2022.
