After a surprise announcement by Crunchyroll that it is now part of the platform’s Winter 23 lineup, this new anime quickly became a highly talked-about show. It even trended on Twitter shortly after the premiere.

Despite not being a heavily promoted show to international anime fans, its light novel and manga source materials have a dedicated fanbase that is excited about the new adaptation.
Also helping it get noticed is the fact that it’s considered by many as a yuri anime.
After all, it follows two female main characters who develop a close relationship.

Lycoris Recoil Comparisons
Looking at the tweets about the series, some fans compared The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess to Lycoris Recoil, one of the biggest surprise hits of 2022.
While the two shows’ premises couldn’t be farther from each other, the yuri elements and cutesy art style of both meant there was an overlap in terms of their appeal.
Viewers on Reddit also mentioned that the main character, Princess Anisphia, is reminiscent of LycoReco’s Chisato.
Specifically, many fans think that the characters share the same bubbly personality.
Given that LycoReco proved to be one of 2022’s most popular anime, it will be interesting to see how this new fantasy anime will fare.
Because of the comparisons, it’s possible that The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess might become one of Winter 2023’s highlight shows.
