The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will see the thriving and glorious kingdoms of Númenor for the golden age of humanity with Queen Regent Míriel and her cousin, Pharazôn, and Khazad-dûm for the dwarves led by Prince Durin IV and Princess Disa.

Speaking with CBR, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power cast members Owain Arthur who plays Prince Durin IV and Sophia Nomvete who will be Princess Disa tease how the influence of the dwarven royalty shaped Khazad-dûm and how they would defend their underground kingdom.

Nomvete reveals what it is like to go through the wardrobe of Princess Disa, "The moment throughout the process of building that wonderful Princess Disa, I'd say that the crown was the moment that the costume got put together. That was kind of my thing throughout my working process. That's where I start to find my feet and fly."

Arthur teases how his beard helps him transition into character, "My beard is in about 16 pieces, and throughout the various stages of the build, you kind of go, “Oh, there he is!” It wasn't until those last little cones, right here -- it was like, “There he is! Off you go to work!”

Nomvete shares how being with the whole cast in New Zealand made them close to each other, "We just got to really immerse ourselves. We were so far away from home that the world of New Zealand, our Middle-earth, became one, and we were all together in it."

Prince Durin IV is also known as Durin the Deathless having such a long life. He belongs to the Seven Fathers of their kind. Princess Disa is his wife and one of the most influential dwarves to see the rise of Khazad-dûm. Nomvete is the first woman of color to play a dwarf in the series.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is set on the Second Age of Middle-earth which will witness the rise of Sauron into power as the creation of the One Ring unfolds. It will also feature the fall of Númenor, the once-golden kingdom of humanity.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power drops a double-header premiere on Amazon Prime Video on September 1st in the US and September 2nd in other countries.
