The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power star Nazanin Boniadi has confirmed that she exited the series ahead of the season 2 premiere later this year.

A lot of fans have been looking forward to the second season which will continue the journey of the characters in the Middle-earth's Second Age. The first teaser was unveiled recently which gave fans their first glimpse at the upcoming season.

However, Boniadi's character Bronwyn was notably absent which made fans wonder whether she is still part of season 2. Unfortunately, we now have a confirmation that she won't be involved in the new season.

Nazanin Boniadi Confirms She Will Not Return in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2

In her recent post on Instagram, Boniadi revealed that she won't be returning to The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 2.

While she didn't explain the exact details behind her exit, she clarified that it was her personal decision.

"I made the choice not to return for season two of Rings of Power. This was unrelated to my subsequent decision to prioritize my advocacy," Boniadi wrote in her caption.

"Throughout my career, the values I have held most dear are honesty, empathy and integrity. My character Bronwyn was committed to these same ideals in striving for a fairer world, which is why I connected so deeply with her. I look forward to sharing my latest projects with you soon."

According to a report, Boniadi's character Bronwyn will not be recast with a different actress. It is unknown yet how her absence is going to be addressed in the new season.

The actress also announced recently that she has stepped back from acting to focus on her advocacy for the #WomanLifeFreedom uprising in Iran although, as she pointed out, it had nothing to do with her Rings of Power exit.

While the news might be disappointing for fans, there's no doubt that Boniadi made a huge mark during the first season and she will remain a memorable part of the series.

Since the character has still not technically died, they could still bring her back in a later season once Boniadi is open to reprising the role again.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 2 is set to premiere with three episodes on Prime Video this August 29.
