The Little Mermaid swims through the theaters this month and Lin-Manuel Miranda is one of the people behind the songs in the movie alongside Alan Menken.

Alan Menken wrote the songs from the original animated films alongside Howard Ashman.

With Lin-Manuel Miranda, the scribe of Hamilton, in the mix, it has always been his signature to have a rap and he's bringing it to The Little Mermaid.

Crazy Rich Asians comedienne Awkwafina is bringing the voice of Scuttle in The Little Mermaid and she will be performing one of the raps for the movie.

The rap is titled Scuttlebutt which will be performed by Awkwafina, herself, with Daveed Diggs who plays Sebastian. Listen to it below.

In an interview with ComicBook.com, Awkwafina hypes up everyone for the new song in The Little Mermaid.

Awkwafina shares, "It was such an honor because I didn't even know Scuttle would have a song, and then I was surprised with that gift."

Awkwafina added, "And then also, Lin is an incredible songwriter. So it was so cool to have performed something like that with the help of Daveed, obviously."

Having to perform alongside Daveed Diggs could be challenging for Awkwafina with the Hamilton actor holding the record for fastest rap on Broadway but from the looks of it, she enjoyed her collaboration with him.

Familiar songs are also back for The Little Mermaid like Part Of Your World, Under The Sea, and Kiss The Girl.

The Little Mermaid brings the story of Ariel into a live-action adaptation where she would be doing everything, even losing her voice, to have feet and explore the world of humans.

There, she encounters Prince Eric whom she saved from drowning after a storm took down their ship, and along the way, falls in love with him.

The Little Mermaid joins the ranks of various live-action adaptations like Aladdin, The Lion King, Peter Pan & Wendy, and more.

The Little Mermaid swims through the theaters on May 26, 2023. The official soundtrack of the movie is now available on iTunes and Spotify.
