There is little doubt that it can be scary working with actors dressed as monsters that want to kill you. However, it could be easier if a familiar face is under all the makeup and prosthetics. Luckily for Melanie Lynskey, that's precisely what she had when filming for her second episode of The Last of Us. Lynskey's husband Jason Ritter has just confirmed he had a secret cameo as a Clicker in the HBO series.
In The Last of Us Episode 5, Melanie Lynskey's Kathleen and her revolutionaries went after Henry and Sam, who had teamed up with Joel and Ellie. However, the explosion of a truck crash allowed the Infected to emerge from the ground and attack everyone in sight. Most of the revolutionaries including Kathleen and Perry are killed in the chaos and although they manage to escape, Sam is bitten by a Clicker.
It was a terrifying episode but it looks like Melanie Lynskey had a great supporter hiding in plain sight. One fan tried to ask Jason Ritter if he was one of the Clickers in Endure and Survive and the actor quickly confirmed it.
It's great to know that Jason Ritter was on hand to support his wife and we're sure that Melanie Lynskey was happy to have a familiar face among the Clickers. With that in mind, we're looking forward to more amazing cameos in The Last of Us Season 2.
The season finale of The Last of Us Season 1 also had an awesome secret cameo from an actor from the second video game. In Episode 9, Joel confronts a doctor and his nurses as they are prepping Ellie for surgery. It has been revealed that one of the nurses was played by Laura Bailey, who provides the voice of Abby Anderson in The Last of Us Part II.
For now, The Last of Us Season 2 has not yet been given an official release date. However, the second season of the series is expected to begin production next month.
