The Last of Us: Melanie Lynskey and Bella Ramsey Praise Child Clicker Who Killed Kathleen

Everyone is talking about the Bloater in The Last of Us Episode 5 but there is one particular Clicker that genuinely impressed the cast and crew of the HBO series. In Endure and Survive, viewers were shocked when Ellie was nearly killed by a child who has turned into a Clicker. Interestingly, the young actor who played the Child Clicker is getting praised by the likes of Melanie Lynskey and Bella Ramsey.

In The Last of Us Episode 5, the Infected finally breached out of the ground and attacked everyone in Kansas City. As Ellie hid inside a car, one of the Clickers followed and almost caught up with her. The Clicker later managed to escape the car and attacked Kathleen, killing her in front of Ellie, Henry, and Sam.

It was an unnerving version of the Infected considering that the Clicker was clearly a child and she moved in a creepy manner. However, Melanie Lynskey told Entertainment Weekly that she was impressed with Skye Cowton, a young "rhythmic gymnast" and contortionist who played the Child Clicker.

"It was crazy. She was so not afraid," Lynskey said. "She's on a wire swinging through the air and she's just like, 'Great!' in the middle of the night in her little Blue's Clues t-shirt."

Melanie Lynskey isn't the only one who loved Cowton's performance in The Last of Us Episode 5. Bella Ramsey left a comment on the gymnast's recent Instagram post about her role on the show. "You crushed it!" Ramsey wrote.

It's unclear if we'll see more of the Child Clicker in The Last of Us but there is little doubt we'll be seeing other versions of the Infected in future episodes.

The Last of Us Episode 5 is now streaming on HBO Max. The sixth episode is titled Kin and is set to premiere on the streaming service on Sunday, February 19, 2023.
