There's no denying that Rey is one of the most divisive if not the most divisive character in all of Star Wars but you also can't discount the fact that the sequel trilogy pretty much revolved around her. Not only that, but the conclusion of the Skywalker saga laid the foundation for her becoming a pivotal part of the rumored Episode X.

While Rey is taking a break from the live-action scene, her presence is still being felt in other media. In the upcoming Star Wars novel titled Shadow of the Sith, Rey still seems to be the story's focal point which isn't all that shocking considering it basically serves as a prequel for The Force Awakens.

What's actually surprising is that the novel finally offers fans new information regarding the young Jedi's past. Star Wars released an excerpt for Shadow of the Sith (via USA Today) which confirms the identity of her parents. First making cameo appearances in 2019 The Rise of Skywalker, we never truly got the names of Rey's parents but the novel reveals their names to be Dathan and Miramir.

Speaking of Rey, actress Daisy Ridley recently gave fans an update regarding her Star Wars status, and while she was only able to offer a cryptic response, it looks like the rumors of the British actress returning to the franchise in the near future are actually true.

Now, with Star Wars Celebration set to kick off in the coming days, it would be a good time for Lucasfilm to officially make the announcement regarding that tenth episode the internet has been rumbling about.

Written by Adam Christopher, Star Wars: Shadow of the Sith will hit stores on June 28th.
