One of the best things about The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Episode 5 was the surprise introduction of Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, or let's just call her the Contessa. After all, she's played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus and she may have convinced John Walker that he has the right to continue to be Captain America.
But are going to see more of the Contessa in the series finale? Wyatt Russell has just hyped up the character's return in the highly anticipated final episode.
Russell recently spoke to Esquire where he admitted that he was thrilled to work with Louis-Dreyfus and claimed that her arrival in the MCU will "be endlessly interesting because she's endlessly interesting."
Not surprisingly, Russell pointed out that Louis-Dreyfus is a welcome addition to the MCU. "I think people are going to think one thing and get a little bit of another because she's such a great actress and you've seen her do feats for the past, however many years. This is a very different type of character for her," Russell said.
So does this mean the Contessa will play a major role in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier series finale? Russell is keeping quiet but he did admit that he's eager to work with Louis-Dreyfus again.
"I'm excited for whatever comes with that. I don't know. I have no idea what's going to come of it, but I hope something does. It would be amazing to work with her," Russell said.
There is little doubt that the Contessa is someone to watch out for in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. After all, her comic book counterpart eventually becomes Madam Hydra and it would be amazing to see this character in the MCU. Some even believe that the Contessa might actually be revealed to be Power Broker.
For now, we're not sure what role the Contessa will play in the final episode. Nevertheless, we're hoping to see more of Louis-Dreyfus in the MCU.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Episode 6 will premiere on Disney+ on April 23, 2021.
