The end of the road begins. In Fast X, Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) must protect his family from Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa), the son of deceased drug lord Hernan Reyes, who seeks revenge after the heist that occurred in Rio de Janeiro.

Dante spent 12 years coming up with a plan to make Dom suffer. Thus, Dom and his team are forced to make new allies and do what’s necessary to protect each other.

So, what happened at the end of Fast X? This article explains the ending of Fast X.

The whole movie is centered on Dante Reyes wanting to get revenge on Dominic Toretto. In doing so, he threatens not just the life of Dom, but also of the people around him.

Dante is probably Dom’s biggest villain yet. Cipher even calls Dante the devil after believing that she was the devil. But even if Dante is driven by revenge, he doesn’t want to kill Dom because his father taught him that they should make their adversaries suffer.

So, in making Dom suffer, Dante seems to have taken everything from him and even includes the team’s money. And every time a plan of his fails, he always has another one ready.

The team walks into a trap in Rome, where they encounter Dante, who happens to control a giant sphere bomb. While Dom successfully drops the bomb into the river, the entire place is damaged, and Letty is arrested.

Dom decides to fly to Rio de Janeiro to deal with Dante. They race, along with Isabela (who’s revealed to be Elena’s sister), but Dante wins by cheating.

Dom later on finds Dante’s hideout and is arrested by Aimes, the Agency’s new head in Mr. Nobody’s absence. They transport Dom over the same bridge where Dante’s father was killed, but they’re attacked by Dante, who holds Isabel hostage.

Tess (Mr. Nobody’s daughter) arrives to help, and Aimes seemingly starts trusting Dom. While it may have appeared that Dante is defeated, the villain manages to escape, bringing the God’s Eye device along with him.

Fast X: Jakob Sacrifices Himself

The one who’s really in danger here is Dom’s 8-year-old son, Little Brian. So, throughout the film, Uncle Jakob looks after him. However, Dante and his men find them in Portugal.

Dom and Aimes arrive in an airplane where Dom once again drops from a plane with his car. Dom manages to take Little B from Jakob’s cannon car, but the way is blocked by Dante’s men.

Jakob chooses to clear the way for Dom by sacrificing himself. He intentionally crashes into the vehicles of Dante’s men.

While it may seem impossible for him to have survived the explosion, since this is the Fast & Furious franchise, we can probably expect Jakob to survive the crash. But we will know for sure in the next film.

The cliffhanger is here. Dom manages to get Little B back from Dante, but they find themselves trapped at a Dam with two oil tanker trucks heading toward them.

Dante then reveals that he has Dom right where he wants him. Dom says that one thing Dante didn't take is his car.

So, once again, Dom does the impossible with his car. He jumps from the dam with his car and son, and they fall into a river.

While Dom and Little B may have gotten out alive, Dante still has one more trick left. The revenge-seeking villain blows up the entire dam with bombs he has set around the site. We last see Dom and Little B trapped.

Fast X: What Happened to the Rest of the Team?

So, what about Dom’s crew? What happened to Tej, Roman, Han, and Ramsey? Throughout the entire film, the Fast family is separated.

Letty is imprisoned with Cipher; Dom follows Dante to Rio and Portugal; and Roman, Tej, Han, and Ramsey meet with Deckard Shaw in London. However, the latter leaves with all his weapons after finding out that Dante is also after his mother Magdalene Shaw (or Queenie).

Tej, Roman, Han, and Ramsey head over to Portugal in a plane to help Dom, but their plane is taken down by Aimes, who’s later revealed to be the right-hand man of Dante. We no longer see them towards the end of the movie, so their fates remain unknown for now.

The ending of the movie shows us that Gal Gadot’s Gisele Yashar is still alive after seemingly dying in Fast & Furious 6. Throughout the film, Letty is forced to work with Cipher in order to escape the black site prison in Antarctica.

And once they already did, a submarine emerges from below. A woman using binoculars appears, and when she places the binoculars down, it is revealed to be Gisele. Gisele then smiles at them.

Fast X Mid-Credits Scene Explained: Luke Hobbs Is Back

The movie has one last surprise: Agent Luke Hobbs is back. It can be recalled that at the end of Fast Five, Hobbs chooses to shoot Hernan Reyes dead.

In Fast X’s mid-credits scene, Hobbs finds a mobile phone ringing. When he picks it up, we hear Dante’s voice on the other line.

Dante tells Hobbs that while Dom was the reason Reyes’ car flipped, Hobbs pulled the trigger which led to the ultimate death of his father.

So, Dante will come after Hobbs too. But Hobbs responds that he isn't hard to find. He then destroys the cellphone with his bare hands.

Since Fast X has so many cliffhangers and unanswered questions, we can expect to get many answers in the next untitled Fast X sequel. One mystery that’s yet to be addressed is Mr. Nobody’s disappearance.

Fast X does not tell us what happened to Mr. Nobody after the plane crash in F9. Additionally, we have yet to see what happens to Deckard Shaw after he leaves the team in London.

The Fast X sequel will also need to explain how Gisele Yashar is still alive. Notably, Cipher isn't surprised when she sees Gisele.

This could imply that Gisele has been working with her (something that could be addressed in the sequel). It would also be nice to see Tokyo Drift’s Sean Boswell in the sequel after he appeared in F9.

Additionally, Vin Diesel seemingly confirmed that Fast X will be a trilogy, instead of a two-part finale, as initially planned. But whether we’re getting one more film or two more, we hope that the last film ends in a barbecue scene in the Toretto’s backyard.
