NBCUniversal recently announced at their upfront event that they are working on not just one, but four Fast and Furious TV series.

One of the TV series projects is currently being set up at Peacock, while the other three are still in various stages of development at Universal Television.

The untitled Fast and Furious TV series is being executive-produced by the film franchise's star Vin Diesel. Mike Daniels, who is involved in The Rockford Files reboot, is currently working on the pilot episode.

So far, no plot details have been unveiled for the TV series spinoff, and it remains unknown whether it will have significant connections to the movies.

On stage, Diesel explained how he is being protective of the Fast and Furious brand and how they ended up deciding to do a TV series spinoff of the franchise.

"As you all know, we are very precious about these movies, but over the last decade, we’ve realized that the fans have wanted more; they wanted us to expand the legacy characters, their stories. And for the last decade, the desire has been for us to enter the TV space," he said.

"That’s when I knew that the integrity of the characters, the international appeal, what makes us all feel like family, will be protected in the TV space."

The eleventh movie, Fast Forever, is currently in development. It is slated to be the final installment in the main series, with a scheduled release date on March 17, 2027.

Vin Diesel teased on his Instagram post, "No one said the road would be easy… but it’s ours. One that has defined us and become our legacy… And a legacy… lasts forever."

So far, the exact plot details of the film are still under wraps, but it will likely address the cliffhanger ending of Fast X.

The previous installment ended with Dom Toretto plunging his car down the face of a massive dam and into the depths below to shield his son, Little Brian, from a series of explosives detonated by the vengeful Dante. Before their fate is revealed, the film cuts to black, leaving the audience in suspense. However, post-credit sequences teased the shocking returns of both Luke Hobbs and Gisele Yashar.
