The Concierge at Hokkyoku Department Store premiered worldwide on June 13 at the Annecy International Film Festival.

In Japan, the film is set to premiere on October 20, 2023. It's also scheduled to be shown at the Animation Is Film Festival in Los Angeles on October 21.

Crunchyroll confirmed that they've secured the rights to The Concierge and that the movie will be screened in North American theaters in 2024. There’s no word yet on the film’s specific release date or window.

At the helm of The Concierge at Hokkyoku Department Store is director Yoshimi Itazu, who is known for his work on Pigtails and Welcome to the Ballroom. This project marks his directorial debut in an anime feature film.

He is joined by screenwriter Satomi Ooshima (Fortune Favors Lady Nikuko and Raven of the Inner Palace) and character designer and chief animation director Chiyo Morita (Run with the Wind and Heavenly Delusion).

Japanese singer-songwriter Myuk, who sang the ED for The Promised Neverland Season 2, performs the movie’s theme song, Gift.

The Concierge at Hokkyoku Department Store is produced by Production I.G, an anime studio with a wide range of popular hits that include Haikyuu!!, Psycho-Pass, and Kimi ni Todoke.
