The Bubble Trailer Unveils Look at Upcoming Netflix Comedy Inspired by the Making of Jurassic World: Dominion

There's a lot of anticipation right now for the upcoming Jurassic World: Dominion which has been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was also one of the first films that went back to production during the earlier months of the pandemic in which it was reported that the cast and crew has to live under a "quarantine bubble" in order to continue with the filming. Now, the behind-the-scenes of the film have inspired an upcoming Netflix comedy and we finally have our first look.

Netflix has released the official trailer for the upcoming comedy film The Bubble, which is about a group of actors and actresses stuck inside a pandemic bubble at a hotel attempting to complete a sequel to an action franchise film about flying dinosaurs. Judd Apatow directed the film. Karen Gillan (Guardians of the Galaxy), Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian), David Duchovny (The X-Files), and Leslie Mann (The Croods) are heading the star-studded ensemble.

The trailer looks like it is going to be a fun comedy to watch and it is very obvious that it was inspired by the making of Jurassic World: Dominion considering the type of actors that are starring in the film's fictitious dinosaur film and it is set in London, which is where most of Dominion was shot as well. It's also great to see Gillan and Pascal doing some wacky scenes as we usually see them in action films. While it may be technically a pandemic movie, it still leans towards the comedic elements and it is under the helm of Apatow, who directed some of the best modern comedy films.

If you're wondering how Jurassic World: Dominion was inspired by the story of this film, according to Collider, it turns out that the making of Dominion had chaotic behind-the-scenes especially when the cast and crew were put together in a bubble. One of the actors in the film's ensemble told Mann about the ups and downs in the production. In turn, Mann told her husband Apatow about the story in which he thought would be a great idea for a comedy film. While Apatow usually makes his films with Universal Pictures (the studio behind the Jurassic World films), he decided to pitch it to Netflix instead.

Also starring in the film are Fred Armisen (Big Mouth), Iris Apatow (Love), Maria Bakalova (Borat Subsequent Moviefilm), Keegan-Michael Key (The Lion King), Peter Serafinowicz (The Tick), Rob Delaney (Deadpool 2), and Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live).
