The Boys Star Antony Starr Responds to Wolverine Fan Casting

There is little doubt that Antony Starr is doing an excellent job at playing the villainous Homelander in The Boys Season 3. But is it possible that he is ready to take on a new role in a different franchise? Starr has just discovered that fans are pushing for him to play the new Wolverine of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and he has a fitting response!

Wolverine is undoubtedly one of the X-Men that fans are hoping will be brought back in the MCU. With that in mind, there are several fan casting ideas being thrown around and digital artist SPDRMNKYXXIII decided to create an artwork depicting Antony Starr as the mutant, claiming that the Boys actor was their favorite for the role.

It didn't take long before Antony Starr saw the fan art and left a hilarious comment on the post.

"Ooofff,- my bones ache just thinking of the stunt work!" Starr wrote before adding a series of laughing emojis.

We're not surprised that Starr feels that way about the role. After all, playing Wolverine would mean a lot of action scenes. Interestingly, he's not the only star of The Boys who thinks the fan casting would be better left to a younger actor who is willing to do all the stunt work.

Karl Urban is another fan favorite to take over the role of Wolverine. Although Urban admitted that it was "flattering," he also pointed out that he's too old for the role.

β€œI’m what, two years younger than Hugh Jackman? I mean, if I was a studio looking to cast someone as Wolverine, I’d pick someone I’ll get three films out of. You’re not going to get three films out of Karl Urban unless you want a 65-year-old Wolverine,” Urban stated.

For now, it's still unclear who will end up being cast as Wolverine in the MCU. In the meantime, you can watch Antony Starr and Karl Urban in action in The Boys Season 3 which is currently streaming on Amazon Prime.
