The Boys Season 3 Has Officially Been Announced Despite Season 2 Not Being Out Yet

The Boys Season 2 will be coming out later this year and we're pretty excited to see how insane this series is going to get. After that crazy season finale where they seemingly show the wife of Butcher being alive and well with the son of Homelander, you can't help but have some really high expectations for this show. It seems like we won't have to worry about this series ending anticlimactically since Amazon has renewed the series for a third season.

During the panel for The Boys at ComicCon@Home, showrunner Eric Kripke has revealed that Amazon has greenlit The Boys Season 3 to appeal to the service's "weirdo demographic." Kripke has confirmed that he and the writers are working hard on the third season, which is going to be a bit difficult since they are doing an aftershow for Season 2.

Of course, the difficult thing about Season 3 is that COVID-19 is still a thing and everyone is hoping that things are better by then. Kripke is hoping to film the show by 2021 but when you consider the state of this world and how its leaders are almost as corrupt as The Seven, we doubt that things will be immediately better, though we're willing to be proven wrong.

"The writers and I are hard at work in the (virtual) writer's room and we're sad to say, the world has given us way too much material. We hope to be shooting in early 2021, but that's up to a microscopic virus."

Will The Boys Season 3 get to film next year? We can only hope. Until then, fans can check out The Boys Season 2 on September 4 in Amazon Prime.
