The Batman Premiere in Russia Will Still Push Through Despite Conflict With Ukraine

From a report of The Hollywood Reporter, it was revealed that a lot of studio executives are in the middle of deciding how to deal with the international event of Russia invading Ukraine and whether to push through with the release of The Batman. Recently, Russia has been a great market audience considering the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home bagging $44.5 million from the said region.

It must be noted, too, that the head of the state, Vladimir Putin, and his executive offices, do not control the movies in the country, and the extent of the government control over media extends only through media advertising channels which means that The Batman can still be released in the country but the difficulty would be in its promotion.

With the release of The Batman being so near, its cancellation would not be possible anymore. However, with the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, it is expected that releasing the film would be a huge gamble. This could be a basis for the upcoming international releases from other studios such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Morbius, and the likes.
