The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 15 Brings Back 2 Major Rogue One Characters

Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 has concluded with an explosive two-part finale that brought Clone Force 99 closer to the machinations of the Galactic Empire's secret plans. Amazingly, the first episode of the season finale brought back two major Rogue One: A Star Wars Story characters and even made a reference to the Empire's biggest weapon.

In Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 15, Clone Force 99 learns that Doctor Royce Hemlock is attending an Imperial Summit at Moff Tarkin's compound in Eriadu. They decide to infiltrate the compound to place a homing beacon on Hemlock's ship, trace him back to his base, and rescue Crosshair and the other clones.

At first, the mission goes smoothly as Omega manages to stick the homing beacon on the ship. However, the rest of the team feels something is off as several sensors are offline. Hunter soon discovers an explosive device in the compound and encounters Saw Gerrera and his men, who are disguised as Stormtroopers.

Saw Gerrera isn't the only Rogue One character who has shown up in The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 15. One of the Imperial officers attending the summit just happened to be Director Orson Krennic who was present to talk about Project Stardust.

Gerrera and Krennic already have major connections to Jyn Erso but the reference to Project Stardust certainly hammers it home. In Rogue One, Jyn's father Galen Erso had named the weapon after his daughter but it was later renamed the Death Star.

It was interesting to see both Gerrera and Krennic in the animated show but Gerrera is the one who plays an important role in the episode. Gerrera pushes through with his plan, trapping Clone Force 99 with no way to escape the Imperial forces. At least, that's how the episode concludes.
