The latest episode of The Bad Batch is titled Replacements and it takes some time before we realize why it's called that. The episode opens with the Havoc Marauder dropping out of hyperspace and crashing on a moon where the crew needs to try and repair it. Interestingly, Omega finds Crosshair's repair kit, sending the others into nostalgia.

But what's happening with Crosshair right now? We are brought back to Kamino where he is being inspected by AZ who declares that his vitals are at optimum level. Admiral Tarkin, who has been observing the clone, meets with Vice Admiral Rampart who has brought in the best and brightest recruits. Tarkin declares that the new soldiers will be trained by Crosshair.

Nala Se and Lama Su are understandably concerned about the new recruits and claim they will never be as skilled as the clones. This leads to Tarkin sending Crosshair and the soldiers on a mission to Onderon to eliminate the rebels working with Saw Gerrera.

In the meantime, Tech and Echo try to fix the damaged capacitor but are interrupted by a slithery creature who steals the fresh capacitor. Hunter reveals that the creature is a Moon Dragon that feeds on energy and decides to go after it to retrieve their capacitor. Omega volunteers to help him and Hunter grudgingly agrees.

Meanwhile, things immediately get serious when Crosshair and his new squad arrive on Onberon and launch an attack on freedom fighters. A rebel refuses to give up Saw's location and is promptly killed by Crosshair who then moves to kill the other rebels. One recruit resists his command and is killed as well, causing the rest of the squad to follow Crosshair's order.

Far away, Hunter and Omega track down the Moon Dragon but Hunter is rendered unconscious when he loses his breath mask. However, Omega continues to follow the Dragon into a tunnel and realizes it cannot find her without light. Using her flashlight as bait, she distracts the Dragon, grabs the capacitor, and crawls back to the surface to reunite with Hunter.

The return to Kamino delights Tarkin but worries the Kaminoans. In the meantime, Crosshair and the recruits are sent to Clone Force 99's old quarters which have been cleaned up. The new-look has a clear effect on Crosshair as he sits on his bed.

The episode concludes with Havoc Marauder leaving the moon and Wrecker presenting Omega with an awesome surprise: a room he built just for her.
