Taron Egerton Debunks James Bond Casting, Claims New 007 Has Already Been Cast


There is no shortage of speculations about Daniel Craig's replacement now that the No Time To Die actor has officially retired as 007. But is it possible that Kingsman star Taron Egerton will take over as the famous spy? Egerton has addressed the possibility of being the new 007 and somehow confirmed that the next James Bond has already been found.

Taron Egerton recently spoke to Total Film to promote his latest project Tetris. However, he was also asked if it was possible that he would eventually become the next 007. Interestingly, he pointed out that the role is already taken.

"Yeah. I mean, I think they've already got someone, and it's not me," Egerton said. He then confirmed that he never got to meet with the James Bond producers about the role.

"I've never been a part of the conversations. I've never met the Broccolis. They've never enquired about me. I've just never been one of the guys that they're looking at," Egerton stated.

"I just don't think I'm the right person for that. I think there's much, much, much better candidates for that role than me," he continued. Egerton then admitted that he is already looking forward to the next James Bond project.

"You know, I'd be a very willing audience member. They're brilliant films," Egerton said.

So who is taking over as the new 007? There have been speculations that Kraven the Hunter star Aaron Taylor-Johnson is the frontrunner for the role right now. However, the James Bond producers have not yet made an official announcement about the casting. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
