1000-Lb Sisters Tammy Slaton Was Rushed To ICU After Health Condition Turns Worse
Tammy Slaton has been drinking and partying in the previous episodes of 1000-Lb Sisters. When her siblings and bariatric surgeon confronted her about her unhealthy lifestyle, she would tell them that it was "self-love" and that she was battling depression, so she wanted to take a break from her weight loss efforts.
However, things have "taken a turn for the worse," according to her brother Chris.
Tammy realized that she had to work on her health and decided to be dropped at a weight-loss rehab facility. She had been struggling emotionally with depression and had been drinking heavily and vaping.
Chris and his wife, Britanny, dropped her off at the facility. However, they received a call that the TLC star "had quit breathing." The news brought fears to Tammy's family members.
"They're just telling us that her lungs have given up, and like her body is shutting down," her sister Amanda said. "So at this point, you know, we're facing making funeral arrangements for my little sister."
Amanda continued, "I'm just sitting here thinking, Oh my god. She's been in such a bad place for so long. She waited too long. And now that she has the courage to step out and get the help that she needs, now this."
According to Chris, the doctors put Tammy on a ventilator and in a medically induced coma. They were not sure if she could make it through the night or through the next hour. Tammy's family stayed for four days until she woke up.

Tammy's sisters were overjoyed that she made it. Amanda said they were happy and relieved because they prayed for a miracle and God answered their prayers.
"She's okay. She's still alive. She has her life," an emotional Amy added.
Following her recovery, Tammy returned to rehab to continue her weight loss journey. According to Chris, Tammy is making great progress and was down 115 lbs after 30 days.
Tammy finally decided to take care of herself after saying in previous episodes that she wanted to fall in love with herself again and discover self-love. She realized that she was fed up with being sick.
"I'm not doing this for anybody but myself," Tammy said. "I've decided to put myself first. Take care of Tammy."
