The real status of Man of Steel star Henry Cavill in the DC Extended Universe is still shrouded by mystery and fans are under the impression that the British actor is no longer returning as Superman in the franchise, especially considering Warner Bros. have made its reboot plans public earlier this year.

The situation ultimately led to speculation that Disney is interested in signing Cavill to a lucrative deal that would see him make the jump to Marvel Studios.

According to a new report from Small Screen, the star of Netflix's The Witcher dropped by Disney's office in London, United Kingdom to personally meet with Marvel Studios representatives. However, it wasn't specified if the actor actually spoke with Kevin Feige himself or if it had something to do with the studio's potential offer for him.

If you may recall, we reported last May that Marvel Studios allegedly has its sights set on "stealing" Henry from WB and cast him as the MCU's Brian Braddock aka Captain Britain. For now, the latest MCU rumor surround the actor still remains unverified so take everything with a grain of salt.

There's no doubt that Cavill would be a great fit for the MCU and if WB doesn't have any plans to bring his version of Superman back to the big screen, then I don't see any reason why he can't jump ship to the "rival" franchise. I gotta say though, I hope WB realizes how valuable Cavill is before it's too late. Losing him as Superman in the DCEU would be a major blow for the franchise.

Meanwhile, Henry Cavill returns as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher Season 2 this December.
