Many DC fans believe that Henry Cavill is the true successor to Christopher Reeves' Superman throne but it's painfully obvious that Warner Bros. doesn't feel the same way about the British actor.
I'm saying that, of course, because up until now, we've yet to get ourselves the Man of Steel 2 project Cavill was once promised. On top of that, the studio announced earlier this year that a Superman reboot is in the works with Star Wars' J.J. Abrams acting as producer.
But despite all the uncertainty regarding Henry's Superman status, a new report claims that we'll eventually see him back in the franchise and it could happen next year. The folks over at Geekosity claim Cavill will make his triumphant return as the Man of Steel in the upcoming DCEU flick Black Adam starring Dwayne Johnson.
To be fair, Cavill has been heavily rumored to make an appearance in The Rock's project for quite some time now so a claim like this no longer comes as a surprise. It's also worth noting that several sources have also reported that Johnson himself has been pushing for the star of The Witcher to make his Superman comeback.

Of course, take everything with a grain of salt especially since Warner Bros. and DC Films have yet to address Cavill's true DCEU status. But if the rumors end up being true, then it's a huge win for comic book film fans who have been clamoring for years to see Henry fly high again as the mighty Kryptonian. Hopefully, a potential Black Adam cameo will lead to more projects down the line and the Man of Steel sequel we've been hoping to see for years now.
Black Adam hits cinemas in 2022.
