Sunye will formally return to the music industry after leaving Wonder Girls.
Among the girl groups in the industry, Wonder Girls famously shifted from a regular girl group to a four-member band following a two-year hiatus. But after trying again, they decided to end their journey as a group in 2015.
Before that, Sunye left in 2015 after her marriage and the arrival of her first child in October 2013. Soon after her recent return, the K-pop star gifted her fans with exciting news.

Former Wonder Girls Sunye Returns With 1st Solo Album
On BlockBerry Creative’s official Twitter account, the agency confirmed that Sunye has been preparing for her solo album.
The company uploaded a trailer photo, disclosing that the album would be titled GENUINE. Meanwhile, the caption divulged that the whole album would arrive on July 26, but its lead single, Glass Heart would be released on July 19 at 6:00 p.m. KST.
It would be her first solo project since joining BlockBerry Creative in February. The agency welcomed her through a heartfelt statement in which it called her a “multifaceted artist.”

“We plan to fully support her so that she can continue actively promoting in the future. Please show warm support for Sunye’s new start with us,” the company said.
Meanwhile, Sunye wrote:
“I’m happy to be joining Blockberry Creative, where they create the happy and enjoyable value of music. As someone who believes in the positive strength of music, I want to give everyone comfort and strength with good music. I hope you will look forward to it lots and send lots of love.”
Sunye Also Joined MAMADOL + Collaborated With Im Seulong
Her solo album will come after joining Mama the Idol. MMD (MAMADOL) is a group formed through the tvN variety show. The program aimed to reunite idols and artists who had already become mothers.
MMD is composed of Jewelry’s Park Jung Ah, After School’s Kahi, Baby V.O.X Re.V’s Yang Eun Ji, Hyun Jyuni, and Byul.
Sunye also marked her return when she and 2AM’s Im Seulong released a remake of Park Jin Young’s hit song, Farewell Under the Sun. She also reunited with Sunmi and performed a duet version of Gashina.
