While the anime’s trailer might make the show seem like your typical romance anime at first, it quickly devolves into something way funnier.
Aside from its funny premise, this show might just be a must-watch for some anime fans, especially those who follow seiyuu. That’s because the two leads are incredibly popular VAs.
Two Popular VAs Cast as Leads of Stupid Angel Dances With the Devil
As revealed in the trailer, one of the two leads is played by Ayane Sakura, a VA that most anime fans should be familiar with given her wide range of roles.
Sakura is perhaps best known for voicing Ochaco Uraraka in My Hero Academia, Tsubaki Sawabe in Your Lie in April, Iroha Isshiki in OreGairu, and Yotsuba Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets.
This season, Sakura also voices Kaya Saimori in My Happy Marriage along with Orio in Pokemon Horizons: The Series.
For this upcoming show, Sakura will voice Lily Amane, a school idol who is actually an angel.
Joining Sakura is Yuma Uchida, another popular VA who plays Masatora Akutsu in Stupid Angel Dances With the Devil. Masatora is a demon who comes to the human world on a peculiar quest.
Much like Sakura, Uchida is also a well-known voice actor. He is best known for voicing Megumi Fushiguro in Jujutsu Kaisen, Ash Lynx in Banana Fish, Kyo Sohma in Fruits Basket, and Iori Kitahara in Grand Blue.

Stupid Angel Dances With the Devil is an anime that’s based on a romantic-comedy manga of the same name that began back in 2016.
The series follows Masatora as he goes to the human world in search of an idol for his demon brethren.
He soon finds the perfect idol in Lily, though he soon discovers that Lily is an angel.

From the looks of it, this upcoming romance anime is a Romeo and Juliet-style story, not unlike shows such as Boarding School Juliet.
Given this, fans of that type of anime should add this show to their watch list.
However, there’s currently no word yet on a release date for the anime, with the show only confirming that it will premiere sometime in 2024.
