Stranger Things Will Byers Has a Bigger Role in Season 2

Stranger Things may already be in production, but there hasn't been a lot of updates as far as what the story will be about. The only thing that fans can take comfort in is the fact that Eleven is returning despite seeing her blow up to smithereens in season 1.

Den of Geek has caught up with the cast and crew of Stranger Things to discuss some broad strokes as far as what fans can expect when the show gets back for its second run. Shawn Levy, director and EP of the show shared that the feel of the first season will be carried over to the next.

"Season 2 is bigger and potentially darker in its stakes. The threat, which in Season 1 was to Will Byers, has grown. That's all I'm going to say! But, I will say Season 2 has a bigger cast and is definitely loyal to the kind of magical storytelling that we established in the first season. It's character-based and still about our core group of characters."

What's more, Will's young actor Noah Schnapp was also coy about giving details. But he did hint that he will be there more compared to how he was in season 1. We'll also find out what exactly is going on with Will throwing up slugs from the Upside Down.

Many fans have speculated that he may be the next antagonist. But Schnapp stopped short of saying if he will be the monster or not. We'll have to wait and see what happens when Stranger Things returns on Netflix this July.
