So far, the details regarding the hit Netflix show's final installment are currently under wraps, but it is expected to take place mostly in Hawkins as hinted by the fourth season finale.

Frank Darabont Reportedly Directing Episodes of Stranger Things Season 5
According to reporter Jeff Sneider in his recent newsletter, The Shawshank Redemption director and original The Walking Dead showrunner Frank Darabont is in talks to direct two episodes of the fifth season of Stranger Things.
He will potentially join Shawn Levy and The Duffer Brothers, who are all slated to helm episodes of the upcoming season as well. Prey director Dan Trachtenberg was previously reported to be directing an episode as well, but the report said that he had exited due to a scheduling conflict.
If Darabont ends up signing on to join the Netflix series, it will mark his directorial comeback as his last directing job was ten years ago in the short-lived series Mob City.
The Oscar-nominated filmmaker also served as the showrunner of the first season of The Walking Dead and directed the Stephen King movies The Green Mile and The Mist.
It also continues the tradition of the show's hiring of directors outside of the usual team and it would be interesting to see whether Darabont's involvement will actually happen since it is an exciting proposition to happen knowing his talent and credits.
One thing's for sure, the final season is going to be an epic finale and they are making sure that it will end on a high and strong note by getting a well-respected director like Darabont on the creative team.
The first four seasons of Stranger Things are available to stream on Netflix.
