Netflix and The Duffer Brothers are currently working on the highly-anticipated fifth and final season of Stranger Things which is expected to be an epic final installment as hinted by the ending of the fourth season finale.

While the writing for the final season is currently on hold due to the writers' strike, it sounds like they are still doing a lot of prep as they recently announced that Linda Hamilton is joining the cast.

Now, it looks like the series has also started recruiting the other directors who will helm the final batch of episodes and it sounds like this beloved horror/sci-fi filmmaker is taking his shot at the beloved hit.

According to One Take News, Prey director Dan Trachtenberg is set to helm at least one episode of the fifth and final season of Stranger Things. It is unknown yet which specific episodes he is directing within the season.

While the show's production is currently delayed due to the ongoing writers' strike that still has no end in sight very soon, he is expected to remain involved in the season despite the ever-changing situation.

It should also be pointed out that neither Netflix nor the major trades have confirmed this report yet so we still have to take it with a grain of salt although the report indicated that the streamer has confirmed the scoop with them.

Besides directing last year's streaming hit Prey and the acclaimed horror film 10 Cloverfield Lane, he has also helmed episodes of hit shows such as The Boys and Black Mirror so it won't be his first rodeo at all on directing episodic television.

It is exciting that Trachtenberg will be helming episodes of the final season since he is a talented director and we know that he has a good grasp when it comes to the horror and science-fiction genre which is what Stranger Things exactly is.

He will also be joining the likes of The Duffer Brothers and Shawn Levy, who are also expected to helm episodes of the final season. We should be hearing more updates about this in the coming weeks or months.
