After the huge success of its supersized fourth season last year, Netflix and the Duffer Brothers are now working on the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, whose pre-production is currently on hold due to the writers' strike.

Before the temporary pause, the creators behind the series have been teasing about what they have in store for the show's final season and it looks like it is set to become an epic conclusion to Netflix's flagship show.

Given that the series has also been recruiting iconic 80s stars in each season, there's also a lot of curiosity about whether the final season will follow the trend and now we finally know who they have cast to join the show's concluding run.

During their recent Tudum: A Global Fan Event last weekend, Netflix announced that Terminator star Linda Hamilton is joining the cast of the fifth and final season of Stranger Things in a major role.

However, the details regarding the role that she will play in the show's final season are being kept under wraps and it is also unknown whether she will be on the good or bad side.

Hamilton's Terminator co-star Arnold Schwarzenegger, who also stars in the streamer's hit show FUBAR, announced the actress' involvement in the final season during the event and presented a recorded message from her.

In the video, Hamilton shared her excitement about being part of the fifth and final season of Stranger Things and revealed that she is also a huge fan of the series.

"I don’t know how to be a fangirl and an actress at the same time. I’m gonna work on that," she said.

It is unknown yet whether the series will announce more new cast members in the final season aside from Hamilton, who will follow in the footsteps of her fellow 80s star such as Matthew Modine, Sean Astin, and Cary Elwes, who joined the previous seasons.

This is certainly exciting news since Hamilton is considered one of the most iconic female action stars and we can safely guess that she will play another badass character in the show's final season.

We should be hearing more details about Hamilton's role as well as other details regarding the final season once the work on the series resumes after the strike.
